Crafted by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, the initial release of our own elegant blend is made from select small lots from neighboring Stelzner and Regusci Vineyards—both family-run for generations, and part of the Napa Valley wine legacy. Both vineyards are sustainably farmed and meticulously cared for. Vines are also being planted here at 4 Winds, just below the Palisades.
The 2012 Cabernet has an enticing earthy aroma layered with dark fruit, mushroom and vanilla. Soft tannins provide a sensual mouthfeel while flavors of black cherry and licorice keep company with unexpected hints of eucalyptus and chocolate and well-integrated barrel influences. Deep garnet in color and intriguingly complex overall, this beauty of a wine would pair effortlessly with braised short ribs, rosemary-rubbed rack of lamb, black olives or a strong cheese like cabot cheddar.
