This 2014 Vintage was #3 TOP 100 Wine Spectator in 2016
Owner Mike Etzel started planting Beaux Frères’ original 24 acres in 1988 on a steep south-facing slope on Ribbon Ridge, near the north end of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, using the Pommard and Wädenswil Pinot Noir clones that dominated the state’s vineyard-scape at the time. The first vintage was 1991, and Beaux Frères soon became an Oregon standard-bearer. As the early opulent style gradually achieved more elegance and transparency, the wines continued to earn outstanding and classic ratings. The 2014, #3 Wine of the Year in 2016 by Wine Spectator Magazine, brims with rich fruit and floral flavors that present themselves in layers, coming together into a supple, expressive balance.
Tasting Notes
Supple, expressive and multilayered, exhibiting flavors of plum, currant, pomegranate and violet that come together harmoniously, persisting into the long and exceptionally well-balanced finish. Drink now through 2024.—Harvey Steiman
